The deadline for Yemassee’s 2009 Pocataligo Poetry Contest is March 15th. The author of the winning poem will receive a $500 prize and publication in our fall 2009 issue. All entries will be considered for publication, and this year, for the first time, we will announce 3-10 finalists in the fall 2009 issue. The $10 entry fee includes a copy of the fall 2009 issue.

Mark Doty, author of Fire to Fire: New and Selected Poems, winner of the National Book Award for Poetry in 2008, will be our final judge this year.
