Write Your Life story and submit it to info@biscaynewriters.com. Keep it short and sweet – fewer than 2,000 words. Something like this.
Or, if you happen to be a screenwriter who knows how to create documentaries, submit a music video that shows your life story (we know there are lots of people on the Net who don’t read and would rather watch and listen…the good news for us writers is that you still have to script a project before executing it). Something like this (by Brad Robertson):
Why should you take the time to do this? I recently read an article on Problogger.com that “writing for a quality blog can really raise your profile…”
If you are a writer hoping to land more freelance gigs, you’re going to have to do a considerable amount of legwork with no guarantees of getting paid. This is the land of entrepreneurs, people. If you’ve got a big mortgage, credit card bills, kids to feed and a big appetite for eating out, be sure to keep your day job (if you can – I know lots of people getting laid off).
If you happen to be one of those lucky people who gets two months’ notice that you’ll be getting a pink slip from your employer, it’s a great opportunity to write for a few blogs, and hey – maybe once those two months are up, you will be living your dream as an independent writer!
We will choose the best out of the bunch and publish the best of the best as they roll in. We look forward to reading about your life!
