Under the Sun, a new series of radio specials on WLRN 91.3/WKWM 91.5 (South Florida’s NPR station) is looking for talented, unpublished writers in South Florida to share a poem or piece of fiction. Submissions are accepted in three categories: children, college and adult. One submission in each category will be recorded in the writer’s voice and aired during a June episode exploring South Florida’s rich and varied literary terrain. The writer featured on-air will also be awarded a modest cash prize.
Write South Florida Guidelines – Amateur/Unpublished Writer Category
Writers must be unpublished.
South Florida is the theme. Writers should include South Florida as a setting, event or experience.
Submit poetry or fiction of 500 words or less.
All submissions must be sent electronically. To be considered, submissions must include the writer’s name, age (optional), entry title and contact information (email and phone) at the top of the submission. Limit one submission per person.
