It’s the best week in Miami: Art Basel. So many places to go, too much art to see, and too many flyers for this or that show. How to choose? How to choose?
Allow Biscayne Writers to direct you to the Wynwood Art District. This is the area of Miami most beach people regard as “the bad part of town” and who knows if a crackhead will jump you in between galleries?
But if you’re smart, you know crackheads often pave the way to fresh, experimental art. True art. Art that breaks the rules, rather than art that makes a good business investment in a posh gallery paying tens of thousands of dollars for a nook inside the Miami Beach Convention Center.
And if you’ve lived in Miami since Art Basel started coming through (circa 2002), then you know it’s really NOT seedy and rather the best place to find memorable, wacky, bizarre underground parties.
This year, Biscayne Writers built a Blogging Beehive in one of these Wynwood warehouses: the Mitrani Warehouse located at 222 NW 27th Street.
The Beehive is buzzing with W-O-R-Dz that tickle the inner earlobe and sizzle the retina. Huh? What exactly does that mean?
OK, we’ll spell it out: The Beehive is where all the honeys hang out, and these aren’t your average South Beach booty callin’ hos at the C-L-U-B. These honeys are Femmebots – their brains are powered by Google and they shoot W-O-R-Dz from their “Boob Tubes” if you stare too long…kinda like Medusa, except the good newz is you don’t turn to stone. You may get a little brainwashed, though, so BeAware.
